Kayaking
Halong Bay’s shimmering surface presents the perfect emerald sheet of ocean for kayaking. This is one of the most profound things to do in Halong Bay and one that usually forms the most amazing of memories from the beauty it displays. Looking up to the peaks of tree-topped mountains while gliding serenely across their bases, dancing through the fluttering shadows of trees around lagoons, docking in coves to explore uncombed shorelines; each is an experience of unbelievable appeal to our passengers and each is possible on the V’Spirit Premier Cruise.
The pace that kayaking affords is intensified in Lan Ha Bay, but even more so in its quietest corners – Tra Bau and Ba Ham Lake, both of which the V’Spirit Premier Cruise sails to. At Tra Bau, our passengers can find a local area of exquisite and unaltered beauty where some of our local partners, Mr. Lap and his family, live on a floating raft at the foot of forest-clad mountains. The V’Spirit Premier Cruise and its few sister cruises are the only ones permitted access to Mr. Lap’s verdant back garden, which hugs the gorgeous fringes of Cat Ba Island while a maze of limestone winds away from it.
Given its location around the southernmost island of Lan Ha Bay, Ba Ham Lake is about as far away from the crowds as tours can get. Kayaking around its still waters and the three cave tunnels that connect them through the mountains is certainly one of the most peaceful activities in Halong Bay. Surrounding the rock reaching out into the sea, visitors can find beaches, star fruit trees and a wealth of animal life such as monkeys, parrots and squirrels.
